The “Breitwand” theatres celebrate small, artistically valuable productions that have a social and educational purpose. To make the cinema experience more attractive for a younger audience, I reimagined “Breitwand’s” brand, leaning more into its indie identity and establishing it as a cultural institution. The new visual identity is carried by a strong, flexible shape—derived from the old logo—, a bright anti-stereotypical colour, and intelligent copywriting. All to make it a recognisable, sympathetic brand. The fsff (fünf seen film festival) is hosted by “Breitwand” and therefore became part of the rebranding process, also using a flexible system, the signature colour and the character-strong GT Cinetype.
